Google Cloud Next ‘21 has come and gone, but it’s not too late to take a look at some of the key happenings!
We at Cloudreach – a Google Cloud Premium Partner and Strategic Managed Service Provider – were thrilled to have participated in Google Cloud Next ‘21 as an event sponsor and session speaker (more on that in ‘Modernizing Experiences…’ below).
As you might expect, there were a few themes that bubbled to the top at Next ‘21, most notably: security, sustainability, AI, data analytics and living on the edge.
Many of those topics are discussed in this webinar, Delivering the Promise of the Cloud, by Jeff Sternberg Technical Director, Applied AI Google Cloud Office of the CTO and Rob Duffy, Cloudreach Service Line Leader. Here are some of the highlights and Google announcements we’re particularly excited about.
Living on the edge – and everywhere else
Google announced Google Distributed Cloud, a portfolio of fully managed hardware and software solutions that extend Google Cloud’s infrastructure and services to data centers and the edge. It’s powered by Anthos, a modern application management platform that provides a consistent development and operations experience for cloud and on-premises environments.
Together is Better – Data Analytics Unification
Google just launched a preview of Vertex AI Workbench, the single development environment for the entire data science workflow. In addition to Vertex AI, it can also be used to analyze data from BigQuery, Dataproc, Spark and Looker in one interface!
The private alpha launch of BigQuery Omni – which is now generally available – is also big news for unification. It allows the analysis of data from other clouds using BigQuery – that is, you can securely query S3 data in AWS or Azure Blob Storage data in Azure directly through the familiar BigQuery user interface.
Cloudreach Session: Modernizing Experiences with Data & Analytics Solutions
Sophisticated data and analytics tools are now publicly available on shared platforms. They leverage economies of scale, unlock the business value of data for all – while enabling better protection of data. What are the benefits of utilizing Google Cloud Data & Analytics solutions from Cloudreach? In this session, Brittany Worthy, Global Partner Manager at Cloudreach, discusses these ideas:
- We can transform organizations to make data management and analysis strategy the heart of their business
- We can securely expand the number of customers and stakeholders gaining insights from customers data and IP
- We can lower the cost of implementing a data strategy while reducing risk and increasing speed to value
Brittany also showcases how we helped a major financial services company sustain a competitive edge and unlock new revenue streams from their data.
Special Agents for Cybersecurity
Google introduced the Google Cybersecurity Action Team (GCAT), a group of security experts with advanced security expertise. Their mission is to provide businesses and governments with threat briefings, security blueprints and strategic sessions – all designed to help with building trusted cloud environments. Check out GCAT’s Security and Resilience Framework that uses Google Cloud and partner technologies.
Solving Real Business Problems with Artificial Intelligence Tools Operate a call center?
Google just made Contact Center AI (CCAI) Insights generally available to help you mine contact center interactions so both human and virtual agents can create better customer experiences.
A Squeaky Clean Cloud
Google Cloud is the cleanest cloud in the industry – check out its sustainability track record. Now, with the Carbon Footprint tool, every Google Cloud user can access the gross carbon emissions associated with the services used in Google Cloud, making it possible to measure, track and report your carbon footprint. And you can reduce your footprint even more by deleting unattended projects with the Unattended Project Recommender.
