Kurtosys provides a market leading digital experience platform aimed specifically at fulfilling the reporting needs of global financial institutions. In order to further optimize its use of AWS and take full advantage of the most up-to-date available services and costs models, Kurtosys partnered with Cloudreach.
Kurtosys sought to validate that its engineering and architectural approach was taking maximum advantage of the resources available within AWS and needed expert guidance in establishing a cloud framework with modern governance structures and best practices – an infrastructure that would be easy to operate, highly secure and cost-effective.
With a highly skilled technology department already in place, Kurtosys sought specific areas of expertise from experienced consultants that had a previous track record in ensuring similar projects could be expedited by leveraging the type of niche knowledge which Cloudreach was able to provide.
Cloudreach’s non-linear approach enabled them to quickly start the project and empowered the Kurtosys technology leadership team to arrive at a number of key decisions in a very short space of time. The AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) was an important factor in supporting Kurtosys in this engagement, contributing best practices, expertise and funding support to accelerate cloud adoption.
Cloudreach maintained consistent engagement with key Kurtosys stakeholders throughout the project, communicated in business – as well as technology – terms, and demonstrated its ability to deeply understand the requirements and adapt to changing business needs.
Based on Cloudreach’s cloud governance review – a six-week end-to-end engagement – Kurtosys is now confidently moving forward in establishing its AWS environment. It has a documented set of architectural standards and principles for cloud governance that provides a strong foundation across key domains to ensure the cloud is operated in an efficient, secure, scalable, reliable and cost-effective way.
The application assessment and business case has given Kurtosys a clear picture of the costs of cloud migration – in terms of both required effort and financial implications.
Kurtosys accepted all of Cloudreach’s recommendations and within a month of the engagement reached a key milestone: it deployed the Kurtosys platform on the new production environment in order to support an EU (Frankfurt) region for its customers.
Kurtosys provides an end-to-end digital experience platform (DXP) that enables firms to create, manage, publish and optimize all their financial data, documents, websites and content in a secure, compliant environment. It is trusted by the world’s leading investment brands to mitigate their risks and reduce their costs while providing the agility to ensure they are first to market.
